FLOWOOD, MS—Benchmark Engineering & Surveying, Inc. proudly announces that Nicholas Alexander has obtained his Professional Engineer (PE) license, marking a significant milestone in his career.
Alexander began his journey with Benchmark four years ago after graduating from Mississippi State University with a degree in Civil Engineering. A native of Madison, MS, Alexander currently resides in Brandon, MS, with his wife Ellen, their two sons, Theo and Woods, and their two dogs, Gypsy and Murphy.
In preparation for his PE exam, Alexander dedicated himself to a rigorous study schedule, spending 2-3 hours each weeknight and 4-5 hours on weekends for three months. He credits this disciplined approach and the knowledge and experience gained during his employment with Benchmark with helping him pass the challenging exam.
Becoming a licensed Professional Engineer requires passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam, gaining at least four years of experience under a licensed engineer, and conquering the challenging Principles and Practice of Engineering (PE) exam. With a first-time pass rate of about 65%, the PE exam is a significant milestone in an engineer’s career. It opens doors to greater career opportunities, allowing engineers to sign and seal engineering documents and even establish a private practice.
Alexander credits the support and guidance from his colleagues and leadership at Benchmark with instrumentalizing his success. Looking to the future, he is committed to continuing his contributions to Benchmark and furthering the company’s growth and success.
“We are proud of Nicholas’ recent achievement,” stated President Greg Bonds. “His dedication to professional growth was handled with incredible resilience, and he set a remarkable example for our team.”
Nicholas Alexander, a dedicated Benchmark Engineering team member from Madison, MS, has successfully obtained his Professional Engineer (PE) license.
