Bagley has been with Benchmark for seven years, joining the company shortly after graduating from Mississippi State University. His academic background and extensive experience have been instrumental in his success at Benchmark.
Bagley, a native of Madison, MS, attended Mississippi State University, where he discovered his passion for engineering. In his leisure time, he enjoys spending time with friends and family, playing golf and disc golf, attending Mississippi State sporting events, and playing video games. He also loves the outdoors, occasionally indulging in hunting and fishing.
Bagley’s journey to obtaining his PE license was marked by perseverance and dedication. After an initial attempt two years ago with minimal preparation, he approached his second attempt with a robust study plan. He began studying three months in advance, dedicating 1-2 hours each weeknight and up to 6-8 hours on weekends. This disciplined approach gave him the confidence and knowledge to succeed on his second attempt.
The journey to obtaining a Professional Engineer (PE) license is rigorous. It involves passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam, gaining at least four years of experience under a licensed engineer, and finally, conquering the challenging Principles and Practice of Engineering (PE) exam. With a first-time pass rate of about 65%, the PE exam is a significant milestone in an engineer’s career. It opens doors to greater career opportunities, allowing engineers to sign and seal engineering documents and even establish a private practice.
Having recently achieved his primary career goal of obtaining his PE license, Bagley is poised to contribute even more significantly to Benchmark’s projects and mission.
