FLOWOOD, MS — Benchmark Engineering & Surveying, LLC, a leading engineering firm dedicated to innovation, excellence, and community development, is proud to announce that Anthony Horn recently passed his engineering exam. This marks a significant milestone in his professional career.
The path to obtaining a Professional Engineer (PE) license is challenging. It requires an ABET-accredited bachelor’s degree, passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam, and gaining four years of qualifying engineering experience. A licensed Professional Engineer must supervise this experience, and it ends with the PE exam, which is a test of technical knowledge and resourcefulness.
Horn engaged in rigorous preparation to achieve his engineering certification, studying for four to five months, working and being supervised at Benchmark Engineering for the past four years, and balancing his online military course. He demonstrated exceptional dedication by arriving early and staying late at the office to concentrate on his studies.
Horn is from Clinton, MS, and is a proud Clinton High School alumnus. He has been an active member of the Mississippi Army National Guard (MS ARNG), where he has dedicated over 14 years of service. Horn graduated from Mississippi State University with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering in 2016. He began his engineering career as a project representative with WGK, followed by an Engineer Intern at Guest Consultants, Inc., where he gained valuable experience from 2017 to 2020 before joining Benchmark Engineering in March 2020.
Looking to his future, Horn aims to continue learning and taking on more responsibilities in his engineering and military careers. Balancing the growth of both fields presents unique challenges, but his commitment to excellence remains steadfast.
“Benchmark is proud to provide unwavering support to our employees as they achieve these significant milestones,” stated Benchmark President Greg Bonds. “We look forward to Horn’s contributions to our projects and community and are committed to fostering his professional growth.”
